"while people were not genetically different". Huh?

What is deeply wrong is that America indulges in a brutal Social Darwinism. God help anyone that wants to start a war with us, because we are immersed in war from cradle to grave. Most people can't survive it so we constantly import the toughest survivors from around the world to be citizens. Being Woke, is just to be aware of this and want a balance with more Social Justice with the Social Darwinism.

Balanced against this blind, instinctive "red of tooth and claw" competition is the messages of cooperation taught by Jesus and deeply rooted in our culture that allows civilization to persist. You can find both instincts in yourself, as well as both strategies.

For humans, civilization is an ecology and as such is our life support system. It is not an ecology that exits in nature and so must be built and maintained. A superior culture is one that can cooperate well enough to do that while avoiding wars and conflicts (uncontrolled competition) that will damage the civilization. Without doing that, we will collapse back to a feudalism... or perhaps even tribalism.

What is missing is an understanding of where civilization leads to. If we can't see the potential for a bright future, if we don't have a goal, we will not reach it. My job is to figure out how humans can adapt genetically and strategically to the new world we have been creating, since we left the tribal world for the farms and cities of civilization. It's complicated and a pretty big problem, so I use ecology to organize the story. It works pretty good. I see an amazing future for humanity, but we have to understand a few things, like the importance of civilization to our survival and development. We need to make it to the next ecology. A culture that does that is truly superior.

I work on long term human survival as humans try to adapt to a new ecology after we left the tribal ecology for the farms and cities of civilization
