Well, I like this and could agree, but there is an alternate explanation as well.

I study human biology... deeply, including strategy and genetics. A problem we face is that we are adapted to the old tribal world. How are we going to adapt to a world 100,000 years in the future if we are having trouble just adapting to the challenges of today? How about if we could put people in a simulation to act as a school with lots of options to choose from, good and bad. A place where they could safely learn about what it takes to live. Well, you can easily interpret stories of heaven and earth that way. "Loving like Jesus is the entrance exam." All societies have rites of passage. Fail on earth to learn the critical lesson of love and you are not going to make it into heaven.

Another interesting interpretation is that humans have evolved two instincts for survival. There is the common blind competition of "red of tooth and claw" nature. There was also the cooperation we developed for survival for the 3 million years after we started really walking (Lucy). It corresponds to the rapid evolution of the brain size. We are creating a new ecology, civilization, to replace the tribal ecology we came from. Civilization does not occur in nature, it must be built and is easy to damage. it is based on cooperation. The only way to avoid conflict that endangers civilization, our life support system, is to love one another. Jesus' message to love one another is a description of how humans can survive and develop long term in the new ecology of civilization.

I work on long term human survival as humans try to adapt to a new ecology after we left the tribal ecology for the farms and cities of civilization
