This is a thoughtful response. It's pretty broad and some of it, especially about communication I disagree with. Women can be horrible at it. Really, I have a long explanation of why I think everyone has stunted moral and emotional growth these days, but that is another story.

Since you think about the subject, may I offer a related question then? Why do people check out of marriages? Men do it, but it is more common to women? It's weird to see. Simple explanations like shared responsibilities and work don't answer it. Nor do other simple answers. I've asked this question before and never got an interesting answer.
