This is a great article and consideration, as are many related articles, but I think there is a horrible mistake in it that causes all kinds of problems. IMO. To me, and I can understand this in terms of Marx's thinking about machines and the tools of productivity, Capitalism should be defined as the use of capital as a tool of productivity. This is required whether you are capitalist, socialist or communist. (Unless you can get people to kill swallows one by one.) The problem then is not capitalism, a very necessary system. the problem is ownership and concentration of ownership.
This has always made more sent to me. Does it make sense to you?
