As you said, I think Ai generated work can be recognized. There are tells including the evenness of it's output.

Being imitative, AIs can really miss a lot especially about novel ideas. It just removes them.

That said, I write a fair amount and what i ahve been experimenting with is writing my essays like I always have and then running them through ChatGTP paragraph by paragraph with the command to update them for readability. It is like having a good editor available and offers me nice word choice suggestions. My last Medium article was written that way and I suspect my future ones will be as well. Lord knows I can always use a good editor but I try to write ideas that are far too novel and unfamiliar to ChatGPT for it to produce.
