"That is where feminism has lost its way "
Just a thought for if you want a different perspective. I study biology so I was looking at why there is population decline in developed countries. There are the usual reasons like cost, difficulty and concerns about the future, but those have always existed. In a way, it's about birth control, but in a different way than you might expect. My conclusion was that we humans these days do not encounter things that release and develop the moral instincts that lead to families. I mean, we don't even teach home economics or civics anymore and the lessons that might release our moral instincts have been replaced by science, which while powerful and profitable, does not develop moral instincts. Only one subject might do that (or were really in trouble) and that is the most basic lessons (definitely not the advanced lessons) of philosophy must be taught to children again as they used to be. It might solve a bunch of other problems too. Everyone agrees we need to be better at critical thinking, but we don't teach it. If you are interested, I put an essay about it here: https://working-for-the-future.medium.com/how-to-solve-the-worlds-problems-b3f757f2aaae
