My first thought is that this is even truer for women.

My second thought is that for many people, love grows. I met a woman once that absolutely stole my heart, but she did not want mine. Years later, I decided I had to leave that behind. I met a smart woman that seemed compatible and seemed to want what I wanted. I know my nature. I married her, though I knew my love for here was weak. I also knew, as happened, that within a year and a half or so, I bonded with her and achieved love. That is simply normal behavior for most people.
