LOL... The problem is worse than you state but for a completely different reason. We can get rid of phthalates (should have long ago) but we have made other changes. What we have called human progress is the removal of natural selection. No species can survive that especially with smaller families with older parents that have more de novo mutations and other genetic anomolies. That, with other factors say we are going to get a genetic load that will destroy us. There is though solution I've been working out for some decades and it will solve the problem of environmental toxins like phthalates as well. There is an economical, ethical way to husband our genes. It is in a much larger context than most people ever consider.
