Lithium does have huge drawbacks in production and disposal. (Wait until that gets in the water supply.) Potassium though is limited, even though they recently found a huge deposit in Sweden (?). I(t is required for agriculture.

Well, it sounds like good technology, but sodium might have some advantages in availability.
