It's infinitely more problematic than that because science crowds out all other knowledge. We don't even teach civics, home economics, manual arts or physical education anymore. Just STEM. Science can create wealth and power, but it's not great for understanding so much of what is important. It cannot tell why to live or have a family. I've been studying this topic recently because I was interested in population decline, a current topic. I determined it was partly because science crowded out what would release the moral instincts that lead to families. Even science sabotages itself when it devalues philosophy, as it does.
