I always take a biological point of view and this stuff is the kind of thing I study, based on sociobiology.

At its simplest, women want the fittest mate and genetic diversity in her children to ensure the best chance of survival. But humans are unusual mammals based on the long developmental period of children, so monogamy developed. There is a trade off. What this article describes is a shift in the balance. I understand women not needing monogamy in that sense, but based on these factors, I would judge that the benefit for the children of a stable family, outweighs any of the other factors. It is more complicated than that, but still doesn't change.

... Just the biology.

I work on long term human survival as humans try to adapt to a new ecology after we left the tribal ecology for the farms and cities of civilization
