Everyone wants to shut down the problem, to go backwards. It can't be done. Why not instead offer a vision where the problem is solved. Most of today's problems could be solved fairly easily by just teaching philosophy again. But no, science decisively won the war with religion about the time of the Scopes trial and philosophy was a casualty. Science teaches that philosophy is dead, obsolete knowledge, but it is what civilization was built upon. It becomes obvious in this day of misinformation when you ask someone what the 7 (or 10 or 15 or 137) common logical fallacies are and they give you a blank look. We aren't taught the most basic intellectual defenses. Politics is name calling instead of the ancient power of rhetoric. We've been dumbed down because science claims all authority of knowledge. It gets away with it because of the great wealth and power that science can provide, but it is so so lacking in understanding and wisdom.

I work to find a path forward. It's not so easy, but there is one and it requires better understanding than we commonly have now. The ancient knowledge is a critical tool of that path. Only a little new knowledge is actually needed. I see humanity as capable of achieving it's greatest aspirations, to become far more than animals in nature. We just need to think like more than animals.

I work on long term human survival as humans try to adapt to a new ecology after we left the tribal ecology for the farms and cities of civilization
