High intelligence is more detectable as an emotional thing than a knowledge thing. When I suspect someone is quite intelligent I ask them "have you apologized for overwhelming people". If their eyes get big and they take a deep breath, you know they have the loneliness that comes with high intellect and the pain of very rarely being really understood.
