We are creating a new ecology, civilization, to replace the tribal ecology we came from. Civilization does not occur in nature, it must be built and is easy to damage. it is based on cooperation. The only way to avoid conflict that endangers civilization, our life support system, is to love one another. Jesus' message to love one another is a description of how humans can survive and develop long term in the new ecology of civilization.
